Red & Yellow are two auspicious colours for an Indian wedding.... Not surprisingly, these colour are associated with India's kshatriyas. So let's get to know more about these two colors. Why Indians give them so much importance in thier life. Red is the most powerful of all colors in Indian culture and holds many important meanings of a single color like fear and fire, wealth and power, purity, fertility, seduction, love, and beauty. Red also represents a certain time and place in one's personal life, including when a woman gets married. It is belived that red has an important place in Hindu mythology because of the Goddess Lakshmi which signifies fertility. The colour red aslo commonly signfies with love and passion. Therefore, Hindu brides are asked to wear red during their wedding proceedings since it stands for prosperity and fertility.The yellow color is very common in every haldi ritual of Indians. The color is a symbol of prosperity and peace for the couple who are starting off their new life together. That is why, the bride and groom wear yellow clothes on their haldi ritual. Since haldi is known for its medicinal properties, so having this an application of this ingredient before marriage would ensure that the bride and groom are blessed with blemish free skin. It is also said that it ensures the couple is protected against any cuts or bruises before the wedding. So this is how Indian people belive to have this color on thier weddings.
